Besides the above, one may select other subjects offered by other specializations related to spatial information science and GIS, or that are essential to one's particular research so as to complete the required credits for the MSc and PhD program. These extra subjects are selected with the assistance of the research supervisor.

Methodology on Spatial Information Science
In this unit, lectures in the theory and practice of ground-truthing, and for making algorithms and assessing results in spatial information science using remote sensing and GIS as the basic tool, are offered. Fieldwork methodology, spatial database creation, and environmental assessment are also taught.

Seminar on Spatial Information Science In the seminar, the usefulness and problems of new analysis methods appearing in spatial information science and related geographical researches is discussed. Papers relating to the themes of each student's research constitute the major focus in this unit.

Field and Laboratory Work on Spatial Information Science
In this unit, we arrange fieldwork and laboratory exercises for the purpose of learning data collection and analysis methods for research in spatial information science. In the field, spatial phenomena monitoring, database creation methods, and investigation methods in the interaction of environmental and human phenomena is learnt.

Special Study on Spatial Information Science
In this unit each student researches on a geoenvironmental science, especially spatial information science related problem, in which he/she is guided along.

Special Lecture on Spatial Information Science
In this unit, current research in spatial information science is covered, especially in the progress of theory and methods in GIS and remote sensing; case study results are utilized.
