We study weather and climate with supercomputer simulation and field observation.
Specifically, it is urban climate such as Heat Island, mountain weather such as Fehn phenomenon, local wind, cap and rotor clouds around Mt. Fuji.
In addition, in order to contribute to society, we are also conducting applied research such as heatstroke prediction, wind power generation prediction, and future regional climate prediction.

GIS is designed to
efficiently handle large volumes of map and attribute
data stored digitally in the computer through retrieval,
making changes, performing spatial analysis and
eventually giving a map output. It is quite a handy tool
in decision making and planning. I have recently
utilized GIS in tackling transportation geography and
urban systems research. It is my wish that all may
enhance geography by freely utilizing GIS in the Spatial
Information Science Laboratory.
